ACH (Automated Clearing House)
An Electronic network for financial transactions in the United States.
ACH processes large volumes of both credit and debit transactions
which are originated in batches. ACH credit transfers include direct
deposit payroll and vendor payments. It is a highly reliable and
efficient electronic funds transfer system. The Federal Reserve
and Electronic Payments Network act as ACH Operators through
which financial institutions transmit or receive ACH entries.
